Deputy Manager

Project duration: Six Months (July 2024 to 31st December 2024) as may be extended by the agency.
The Deputy Manager would be based in Patna with frequent travel to districts of Bihar. The Deputy Manager would be responsible for:
- Coordination with state and district level officials for planning and implementation of the project activities.
- Organize state and district level trainings on ODF plus components such as Solid and Liquid Waste Management (SLWM) in coordination with state and district departments.
- Plan and undertake capacity building programmes at gram panchayat level on components of ODF plus.
- Conduct feasibility study of plastic waste management in one district of Bihar and prepare a Detailed Project Report for developing business model of PWM.
- Prepare and develop capacity building manuals and IEC materials on Solid and Liquid Waste Management.
- Undertake regular project activities and documentation as required by the project or by ILRT
Education Qualification and work experience:
- At least 5 years of work experience at district level or above on issues such as SLWM, Plastic waste management, Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) and Lohiya Swachh Bihar Abhiyan.
- Proven record of capacity building, project planning and implementation.
- Should have master from environmental science/ social science/ from recognized university with in-depth understanding on issues such as WASH, IPC and waste management.
Duration and compensation
- The duration of the project is six months and compensation for the position will be at par and will be based on the qualification, skills, and experience of the candidate.

Job description:
ILRT is looking for a Project manager to manage the Project “Strengthening Farm based Livelihoods through Scale-up support to FPOs for Agri Value Chain and Market System Development in Chhindwara, Nashik, Ratnagiri, and Silvassa Districts: An Initiative under Prabhat, A Community Initiative of Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL)”.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to drive business development initiatives at the FPO across the four locations.
- Manage the team and activities at the four locations.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, farmers, and external partners to achieve project goals and objectives.
- Establish and maintain effective market linkages to optimize business outcomes for the FPO and its shareholders.
- Prepare and present timely reports and presentations on project progress, financial performance, and operational activities to authorities.
- Manage project budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure successful completion of deliverables.
- Frequent visits to all the locations to monitor the work progress and work planning.
- Collaborate with FPO teams at each location to organize training sessions, meetings, and capacity-building initiatives for farmers.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements of all involved FPOs, including financial, legal, and operational aspects of the project.
- Coordinate with government departments, agricultural agencies, and other stakeholders to access beneficial schemes and resources for farmers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, Agriculture, Rural Development, or related field.
- Proven experience of 8 to 10 years in project management, business development, or agricultural operations, preferably in the FPO sector.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a diverse and dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of financial management, market development, and regulatory compliance in the agricultural sector.
- Proficiency in MS Office, MIS and project management tools.
