Restoring Livelihoods of Smallholder Farmers: Challenges and  way forward’

The first in the webinar series ‘Reviving Livelihoods in the Farm and Non-Farm Sector’ titled ‘Restoring Livelihoods of Smallholder Farmers: Challenges and way forward’ was conducted on August 28, 2020. About 340 participants attended the program. The participants included a wide mix of development practitioners, academics and researchers and policy makers. The objective of the webinar was: a) To understand livelihood challenges of smallholder farmers in post Covid scenario; b) To explore scope of interventions to strengthen agricultural value chains and; c) To identify policy measure and steps for restoring livelihoods of smallholder farmers.

Restoring livelihoods of landless agricultural workers and rural non-farm workers: A way forward

The second in the Webinar series ‘Reviving Livelihoods in the Farm and Non-Farm Sector’ titled ‘Restoring livelihoods of landless agricultural workers and rural non-farm workers: A way forward’ was conducted on 25th September, 2020. About 123 participants attended the program, which included participants were from BASIX Social enterprise group, RGICS, Development sector professionals, Policy makers and Academicians. The objective of the webinar were: a) To identify the livelihood challenges posed by COVID 19 on livelihoods of agricultural and RNFS workers; b) To identify strategies for interventions which receive wage employment opportunities in the short run and c) To identify policy measures and steps to be taken to restore livelihoods of the agri and non agri workers in the long run.

Webinar – Restoring Livelihoods of Artisans and Craftspersons: Way Forward

A webinar ‘Restoring livelihoods of Artisans and Craftsperson’s: A way forward’ was conducted by ILRT and RGICS on 7th  November, 2020. Covid had its impact on handlooms and handicrafts sector. It engages about 31.44 lakh households. COVID 19 had its effect on the crafts sector. The objectives of the webinar were to identify livelihood challenges posed by COVID 19 on handicraft and handloom workers, explore intervention measures to strengthen market linkages and to identify policy measures to restore back their livelihoods. About 80 participants representing BASIX Social enterprise group, RGICS, Development sector professionals, Policy makers and Academicians deliberated in the webinar.
