The ultimate aim of impact assessment studies is to understand the livelihood impact created by programs and projects. The donor agencies, implementing agencies intend to understand the impact of the programs. It is a specialised research, where change before and after interventions is assessed and factors attributable to the projects assessed. A range of methodologies need to be applied according to the context of the impact assessments to be carried out. ILRT has experience in conducting such impact assessments. The programs assessed include that of self-help groups, skill development programs, natural resource interventions, microfinance programs, micro-enterprise interventions etc. The impact is assessed at the level of individual, enterprise, household and community.
